Transportation

Transport to/from Sydney Airport

The Conference does not provide any transfers from the airport to conference hotels. All delegates must make their own transport arrangements to and from the airport. For more information visit www.airportlink.com.au.

Taxis can be engaged at ranks at Sydney Airport. The taxi ride from the airport to the Sydney CBD can take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic, and will cost between $50 and $70. A taxi ride to Coogee will take 20-30 minutes and cost between $40 and $60.

An Airport Link rail service runs from approximately 05:00 until midnight, seven days a week, to and from the Domestic and International Terminals and all City Circle railway stations. There is no train link between the airport and the conference venue.

Public buses are available to travel from the airport to the city; a bus or light rail can then be taken from the CBD to the conference venue. To use public transport, you will first need to purchase an Opal card. These can be purchased at the airport and at many other retail outlets (remember to ‘tap on’ at the start of your trip, and ‘tap off’ at the end of your trip). You can use your Opal card on trains, buses and many Sydney harbour ferries.

Light Rail

The Randwick light rail service is also available connecting UNSW to central Sydney with the closest stop to the AMS-15 Conference venue on High Street, adjacent to the campus.

The 12km light rail runs every 8 minutes with 19 stops, extending from Circular Quay along George Street to Central Station, through Surry Hills to Moore Park, then to Kensington and Kingsford via Anzac Parade (UNSW) and Randwick via Alison Road and High Street.

See map here.

Buses

With nearly 1,700 UNSW Express Bus services per week the campus is easy to get to via public transport no matter where you are travelling from. Buses from the conference venue can also take you to visit attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Eye Tower, the Rocks, Coogee or Bondi Beach (see also Tourism Information under the Travel tab).
